Control your windows or mac pc with RDM+ on your android device. . . . .
RDM is short for Remote Desktop Manager, as the name suggests, you can manage your desktop pc using your android device running this app. . . . .
You would require to download the desktop version of this software, (install this RDM+ from Play store, and you will get instructions to access the RDM website), follow instructions to register (for free) online and get a unique number ID for your desktop pc. After that everything is as easy as 1, 2, 3. There is also a short startup pdf to guide you through setting up a connection. . . . .
Connection is done through wifi, meaning you can access (and actually SEE the real desktop at work on your android screen) your pc from anywhere you have wifi access (provided your pc is on, of course) . . . . .
Once connected, you get to select from options like realtime desktop mode, or browse the files on your pc, or better still, reboot or shutdown the pc using your android. . . . . .
choose to disable the desktop wallpaper if you experience slow refresh
choose between desktop mode or file browser or system monitoring
browse the files on your pc, or copy any file to and from your android device
shutdown or reboot your pc, RDM+ loads up by default, so it will always be running in the background, waiting for your wifi connection
Tapping on your android in desktop mode is equivalent to a mouseclick on your pc, a double tap brings up the context menu, and long tap allows you to select between 4 buttons like: drag-and-drop, right-click-menu, hotkeys and pan-and-zoom. . . . .
long tap for the 4 button options
zooming in means you can even view your pc clearly even with a 2.5in screen
Hotkeya are essentially emulations of al the extra keyboard combinations you can find on your pc keyboard (which you won't find on your tablet or smartphone), like Ctrl, Shift, Alt, PgUp, PgDn, Home, End, Pause, Backspace, Tab, Ins, Winkey, and all those Function keys. These keys are all fully configurable to send whatever command to your pc remotely.
There is an option to make the connection LOCAL, meaning you are in the same wifi hotspot with the PC, and the pc may be in another room, you still connect to it without going all the way to the web.
