why swim the English Channel? very glamour meh?

I nearly wanted to throw up when they broadcast the video about Malaysans 'finally successfully' swimming across the English Channel. of all the waters in the world, why choose to swim there? I do not think that would be a feather to be reckon with Malaysia Day. IF it is going to be a celebration for Malaysia, do it from Johor to Sarawak last, why go and take someone's buttocks skin and paste onto your own face? IF johor to Sarawak is too far, we also have Mersing to Tioman, Praise to Penang, orPrai tp Langkawi. The reason they choose to do it overseas, I think is because they won't be lots of Malaysans to mitness the failure. I have reason to believe that even if the swim was a 'successful one', they may have failed more than a hundred times. Or worst still, they only broadcast the starting and finishins, plus a bit of in-betweens, to imply the swim 'is successful'. Of course, doing it overseas is the only way to spend a lot of money without achieving anything, and also avoid failing in the eyes of our very own countrymen. Who dares to swim in local waters. If a marathon swim is any glamourous a feather to be reckon with, please do it locally, done't hide away in a faraway land anfield boast about the feather on propaganda TV. Got balls?
