Bird's nest GOOD for skin complexion, NUTS!!

I have often been amused by the chinese over promoting nutritional value of the bird's nest soup. the bird's nest that was collected was in fact a bundle of twigs and dried leaves 'glued' together with mucus from the swallows. The 'edible' part harvested and packaged as expensive medicinal foodstuff was in fact the dehydrated mucus. In fact, the mucus was no different from those liquids that run from our nose when we caught a cold, hence I do not see how nutritious the bird's nest could be. That the bird's nest concoction was presented as a food high in protein and promoted as good for preserving skin complexion in humans, is and overstated myth. I watched on tv a group of bird's nest farmers meeting up to discuss a strategy for countering China's recent spat on imports of the said item from Malaysia., and I baulk at the sight of tbose farmers' faces. Did they always say that bird's nest soup helps in keeping your skin complexion from aging? Those farmers' faces are a bad testimony to the nutritional value of bird's nest. I say, if this bird's nest is really so good, the farmers being having access to the best grade of such, should have 'fed' frequently on the 'magic' food, and at least look better than me, NO? Well, how do you convince someone to believe that what you sell is good for skin complexion when you don't even try to consume it (and show proof) ? I do not know about other people, BUT I would never believe that bird's nest could ever promote good skin complexion IF the boss who owns such a business has a scary face.
