I
recall about a year ago in the star's citizen blog, blogger PatrickJB
inquired about the efficiency of the SMART tunnel water management
project in KL.
My
response to bro Patrick was that, the SMART tunnel has been fairly
average in overcoming the occasional flash flood in and around the
Golden Triangle area since its completion.
I
did mentioned about the reality that, Malaysian's attitude towards
solving problems in the city(or country), has always been ad hoc.
Solving one problem in one particular area actually means 'diverting'
and shifting the problem it to another 'unexpected area'.
There
was also a report on the possibility of terminating the service of
two water retention ponds (out of three) that helped ease the burden
of SMART TUNNEL.
Now
I do not know if the two ponds were still in service or they would
have been closed as proposed, anyhow, the 'SMART' tunnel has proven
itself 'not so SMART' after all.
The
latest flood incident around the Pudu and Imbi area was only next
door to one end of the SMART tunnel, yet this smart thing wasn't in
the emergence zone to be of any help at all.
Well,
we can take it that the Smart tunnel project would somehow be
'diagnose' as a failure..... BUT this is not the case. The company in
charge of that total flood management has declared that the abovesaid
flood area 'was not under the management of SMART'. wow this is
mind-boggling.
If
you cannot devise a plan to cater for an area nearby, then I don't
really know how SMART a system could be.
So,
it could be understood as, SMART will never disclose which are the
areas supposed to be under the management of such flood prevention
project, But they will most certainly be able to tell you; those
areas that experience floods 'will definitely' NOT be under their
management zone.
That
leaves the other possibilities to your very own imagination; as long
as an area doesn't get flooded, it WOULD be under SMART control.
In
that case, I can instantly deduce that PUTRAJAYA must be under the
control zone of SMART.
Am
I smart?
How
about Gunung Tahan?
