Water and Energy: How do we treasure them?

Look around us.

How many times have we heard/ read about people complaining price hikes in almost everything?

Price fluctuations of most, if not all, basic necessities depend upon these two factors: Fuel and Water.

Groups everywhere are struggling to convey 'messages of distress' to all living on this Earth, aiming to educate the new generations, HOW TO CONSERVE WATER AND ENERGY.

Fellow blogger fnd bro wrote an interesting post on the importance and impending scarcity of water. CBloggers alike, though small in number, unanimously agree that 'Water conservation' indeed is an urgency we ill-afford to overlook.

Ngguanhuah's post about the modification to his water basin outflow pipe , though an 'encouraging feat', was a bit on the funny side, drawing some hilarious comments. I salute you ngh bro.

So much for the water issue.

It was only recently that someone started complaining about power rate hikes, not only limited to most of my neighbours, but including a few of my relatives.

People were asking why I manage to keep my power consumption lower than RM40/month. The answer is NOT SIMPLE.

1. People are using air-conditioners to make themselves SO COLD, that they have to take warm showers. Energy consumption BOTH WAYS.

2. People are using 5 or 10 warm-light bulbs to light up their offices/rooms, when 1(one) flourescent tube can do the same job.

3. People are using 7.1 channels for audio entertainment, when they only have 2 ears. What if sound engineers come out with 12 channels tomorrow?

4. People are shinning hundreds of spotlights on buildings that doesn't house a single soul at night.

5. People use all-round glass panels for offices, BUT drape heavy curtains over them just to keep out the sunLIGHT. They then have to spend extra electricity to COOL DOWN and LIGHT UP the air-tight offices.

6. Don't you think, these people are NUTs?
